Real estate mogul Harlan Crow, who all but exclusively bankrolled a failed multi-million-dollar effort to block a publicly owned Dallas Convention Center hotel, will ask Mayor Tom Leppert to put a contentious political campaign behind them in hopes of working together.
“This has been a difficult campaign for both sides,” Crow writes in a letter he plans to deliver Monday morning to Leppert. “Over the last 20 years, we have had a good mutual friendship and it is my hope that despite the heat of the election that friendship can be restored, maintained and enhanced.”
Crow’s statements, which come after a bitter campaign over hotel-killing Proposition 1, stand in stark contrast to months of sniping between the two sides.
