Dallas real estate mogul Harlan Crow and his family have donated more than $900,000 through last year in an effort to derail a planned, publicly owned Dallas Convention Center hotel, according to city campaign finance records.
Here’s the thing: Crow, through his close associate Anne Raymond, is refusing our requests to be interviewed about his opposition to the convention center hotel. Nor has Crow, whose company owns the Hilton Anatole hotel, spoken or written in months about why he believes the convention center hotel is a lousy idea.
In fact, Raymond tells us this week, Crow has no plans to publicly participate in any debate, forum, press conference or chat over tea about the convention center hotel prior to a public City Charter referendum May 9 on whether Dallas should own a convention center hotel.
